We offer curb-side pick-up and shipping

by admin on March 16, 2020

We are following the government directive to close to walk-ins, but I am at the store working and filling orders. Barb and I are both healthy. Of course, we want everyone to be safe and healthy too.

If you have extra time on your hands, why not get busy with making art! We are happy to ship supplies and also offer curb-side pick-up: just give us a call and we can suggest ideas, or go through your order. Payment can happen on the phone or with e-transfer. Call 519-369-1283. I will also be posting a partial list of our supplies on the Art Supply page.

Thanks for your continued patronage.

Artists wanted

by admin on January 25, 2020

It may be mid-winter, but plans are bubbling for the summer… and ArtsFest! The organizing committee, comprised of local heroic volunteers, wants YOUR creativity to make this the best festival yet. Plans are underway to make the main street in Durham a hive of artistic inspiration.

Download the application below to put in your name for: 1) demonstrating a visual art medium or technique, 2) filling a tent with your art to sell, or 3) creating an art installation in the alleyways and nooks along Garafraxa St.

For the week leading up to the festival, […]

Building on the success of last year’s festival, Durham downtown businesses are supporting another celebration of arts, along with our local Lions club and other volunteers. Dip your brush into some glue and try bookbinding! We won’t tackle the whole process, just making the covers, otherwise known as case-making. Drop in between 4:30 and 7:30 on Friday April 5, and I will set you up. The normal $2 applies, plus an extra $2 if you want a ready-made text block; you […]

All things comics!

March 8, 2019

You might not know it looking at me, but I grew up reading comics. I couldn’t resist the dramatic drawings of idealistic heroes jumping around saving people (and getting into trouble). It was like watching a movie, but at your own pace. You could imagine yourself in a big city at night, on top of […]
